Are doTERRA essential oils organic? They are “above organic”.

The “organic” industry has many leap holes and the criteria for the label “certified organic” are very loose. A product can be certified “organic” even if a large percentage of the product ingredients are not and because of this there is room for a standard classified as ”above organic”.

The above mentioned issues are the reasons why the founders of doTERRA created their Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® (CPTG) which exceeds industry standards. Because organic certification varies from country to country, province to province and state to state, it is not currently possible to acquire all oils under certified organic status. However, through the GC/MS analysis process, doTERRA is able to ensure that all CPTG essential oils offered are absolutely pure and a step above organic (watch video HERE).

If an oil fails the purity test, there is no secondary process for removing the pesticides or foreign matter. The oils failing will simply be rejected. The oils are 100 percent pure aromatic extracts. Nothing is added. Nothing is removed. They either meet doTERRA´s standard or they don’t.

dōTERRA´s CPTG (Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade) essential oils represent the safest, purest and most beneficial oils available in the world. 

For an oil to qualify as a CPTG oil, it needs to be: 

• FREE from added fillers, chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, microbes, heavy metals, contaminants and any other artificial substances. No dilution of active qualities.
• Cross tested using mass spectrometry and gas chromatography to ensure purity and potency.
• Pure with aromatic compounds carefully extracted from plants through the finest steam distillation and expression methods. 
• Sourced by a global network of leading essential oil chemists and growers to ensure correct species, growth in ideal environments and that raw plant materials were carefully harvested at the right time.
